Sorry, lymph flow is proximal only.

Diagrams of the lymphatic system are grossly wrong, showing, as they do, distal flow of lymph through the lymph vessels. Interstitial tissue fluid arises from the arterial system and is picked up by the initial lymphatics where they first become known as "lymphatic fluid". Their flow in the lymphatics is unidirectional, distal only, unlike the flow of the circulatory system.
